Bloody Fight Began With Noisy Child, Cops Say

Two Hackettstown men charged with simple assault.

A brawl that ended with blood and injuries on the 100 block of Main Street Thursday began after one man made comments about another's child making noise, according to Hackettstown Police Sgt. Darren Tynan.

Ricardo Tapia-Beltran, 39, and Candelario Bonilla, 44, both of Hackettstown, were both charged with simple assault.

Officers arrived just after 11 p.m. to investigate and determined that the fight began over Tapia-Beltran's child making noise, Tynan said.

Tapia-Beltran had a swollen area above his left eye and an injured hand when officers arrived and Candelario had a swollen left eye and was bleeding from his nose, according to Tynan.

Both were released and are awaiting court appearances.
