Bomb Threat At Hackettstown High School A Hoax, Police Say

Local, state police searched building with negative results Tuesday morning.

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – An investigation at Hackettstown High School Tuesday morning proved a called-in bomb threat was just a hoax, Sgt. Darren Tynan said.

Hackettstown Police responded to the building at 9:57 a.m. in reference to a bomb threat called in just a few minutes earlier, Tynan said.

The caller told someone in the school’s front office there was a bomb inside the school, Tynan said.

School security protocol was followed for the safety of the children and local police were assisted by the New Jersey State Police K-9 unit, Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, and Morris County Sheriff’s Office.

The school was searched with negative results and classes went back to normal.
