Decorate and Win in the 'Deck the House' Competition
The Hackettestown Recreation Commission will judge homes and businesses and give out awards for the best representation of the holiday spirit.

Are you proud of your holiday displays? Do you work hard on them and want folks to enjoy your handiwork?
The Hackettestown Recreation Commission is looking for homes and businesses that get into the spirit of the season in their decorative treatments. The town is running a "Deck the House" Compeitition from Friday, Dec. 20 through Sunday, Dec. 22.
The purpose of the contest is to encourage residents and business owners to light up Hackettstown in the spirit of the holidays and to promote 'Peace on Earth and goodwill towards all," the Recreation Commission said in a press release.
That's when Commission members will judge the decorative efforts of local resident and businesses, and select seven winners from around town.
At the same time, the Hackettstown Business Improvement District (BID) will cosponsor its own contest for Church Street. Winners will be notified and will receive an award certificate from the mayor and council at a January meeting of the Hackettstown Council
