Drunk Hackettstown Man Tried Taking Cop's Gun After Denting Car: Police
Incident began when man allegedly dented car on Franklin Street, police said.

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – A “visibly intoxicated” Hackettstown man damaged a car, then grabbed a police officer’s arm and tried removing his weapon Saturday night, Sgt. Darren Tynan said.
Hackettstown police responded to Franklin Street at 9:31 p.m. Saturday night for a report of an intoxicated male that damaged a vehicle, Tynan said. When police arrived, the man had left the scene and went inside a nearby residence. The victim told police they saw an intoxicated man lean on the front fender of the minivan and caused a large dent on the passenger side front fender, Tynan said.
Officers then located the man inside a home on Franklin Street, and observed he was “visibly intoxicated” and would not provide identification to the police, Tynan said.

The man, later identified as Antonio Cahuec-Chen, 36, of Hackettstown, grabbed an officer’s arm, then tried to grab the officer’s gun, Tynan said.
Cahuec-Chen was taken into custody and charged with attempting to disarm a law enforcement officers, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct.

He was placed in Warren County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 bail with no 10-percent option.
