Fundraisers Planned to Bring 'Smiles for Margaret'

Multiple fundraisers are planned in coming weeks to aid a local girl battling a brain tumor.

The Smiles for Margaret organization is sponsoring a series of events to raise money for the family of Margaret Walling, a Hackettstown Middle School sixth-grader.

Since being diagnosed in January, community members have rallied to help Walling and her family, holding a wrestling fundraiser, a special breakfast at the local Applebee’s and a series of other one-time events to raise money.

Upcoming fundraisers include:

Karaoke Dance Party

• 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. April 26 at the St. Mary's School auditorium, Cook and Liberty streets
• $5 admission

Brooklyn Shuz Tournament

• $25 per team; pizzas and T-shirts available to purchase
