Hackettstown 'Beauty' Leads to Warren Garden Club Award

Hackettstown Business Improvement District honored for efforts in beautifying town.

The Hackettstown Business Improvement District was recently honored for beautifying the community when the group received the Civic Beautification Award from the Warren Garden Club on Thursday.

Hanging plants and planters hung throughout the business district by the Hackettstown BID were praised by the garden club.

“This award would not be possible without the hard work of Keith DeTombeur, BID President, Carols Orozco, BID Staff Member and Stewart and Elaine Ginsberg and their staff at Hometown Hardware, it’s a true collaborative effort”, said Jim Sheldon, executive director of the Hackettstown BID.

Awards have been issued by the Warren Garden Club since 1982. The awards are given to businesses or people who "demonstrate outstanding achievement in the horticultural beauty of their property," according to a press release. A different property is selected each month to receive the award.

“It’s an honor to receive this award from the Garden Club and we appreciate their recognition of Hackettstown’s beautiful shopping districts,” Sheldon said.
