Hackettstown Bustles With Summer Food, Entertainment Activities

Performances by The Kootz, Restaurant Week highlight local events.

The following was submitted by the Hackettstown Business Improvement District.

As the Moore Street Market continues in the heart of Hackettstown, Godlewsky Farm presents the freshest in local produce, Fuela Farms fresh eggs and Best Fruit Farms joining the market in coming weeks. In addition, the wide variety of products from dried fruit and nuts, homemade sausage, pies, jelly, kielbasa, pierogi and fried chicken, along with hand crafted soaps, lotions and yarns—let’s not forget fresh flowers and dried herbs and teas—join together to make the market a wonderful experience on Saturdays.

Hackettstown BID Director Jim Sheldon reported that theme weeks make the market a new experience at every turn. On July 20, look for "Home & Garden" and Aug. 3, "On the Move."

With Hackettstown Regional Medical Center as the Market's primary sponsor, “the connection between health and wellness and the availability of farm-fresh fruit and vegetables makes it a natural fit for HRMC to sponsor the Moore Street Market,” said Sheldon.

The 2013 Summer Concert Series gets underway on July 10 with the wildly popular cover band The Kootz performing at Home Towne Hardware, 232 Main Street, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Bring your chair and enjoy the evening out with some lively music free to the public! The rest of the series features Desire playing oldies favorites on Aug. 14 and the acoustic band George Baier Project on Aug. 29.

New to the BID calendar is "Passport to Hackettstown" Restaurant Week - July 14 – 20. Restaurant Week is a fun way to try the wonderful dining choices in Hackettstown.

Pick up a Restaurant Week Passport then make a purchase over $10 at a participating eatery to receive a sticker in your passport. At the end of Restaurant Week, drop off your passport - each sticker earns one raffle ticket. No purchase necessary, each passport comes with a free passport sticker.

The raffle drawing will be held at the BID Office on July 25. Winner will receive $100 in BID Bucks and does not need to be present. See the BID website or contact the BID office for complete rules.
