Hackettstown Man Killed In Rt. 10 Crash Identified: Police

The 61-year-old man was driving with his wife when the crash happened, according to police.

RANDOLPH, NJ — A Hackettstown man killed in a Monday evening crash on Route 10 has been identified as Daniel Brice, 61, from Hackettstown, Randolph police said.

The crash happened on Route 10 near Dover Chester Road Monday evening. Two cars were involved, police said.

One car, driven by James Shearer, a 70-year-old Stanhope man, ran off the road and sunk into a retention basin. The other car, driven by Brice, flipped over on Route 10, police said.

When police arrived, Shearer had already gotten out of his car, but both Brice and his wife, Katherine, also of Hackettstown, were stuck inside the flipped over car. Katherine Brice was freed by members of the Randolph Fire Department. Daniel Brice was dead before he could be freed, police said.

Katherine Brice and Shearer were both taken to the hospital.
