Hackettstown Police Charge Man In No Parking Zone With DWI
Police say Richard Wehrheim, 39, of Budd Lake, was sleeping in his car when an officer first spotted him.
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A Budd Lake man who police say they found sleeping while parked in a no parking zone has been charged in Hackettstown with DWI.
Sgt. Darren Tynan, a spokesperson for the department, said that this past Saturday at about 11:30 p.m. a responding officer found a car sitting in a no parking zone on Little Street.
While checking on the car, Tynan wrote in a news release about the incident, the officer saw a man sleeping in the driver’s seat. When responding officers reportedly woke him up, one officer said there was a scent of alcohol after they started speaking to the man.

Police later charged Richard Wehrheim of Budd Lake, 39, with DWI, careless driving and for parking in a no parking zone, Tynan said.
