Joe Piscopo's Bookkeeper Admits Stealing $170K From Actor

Hackettstown man could be sentenced to three years in prison, prosecutor said.

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – A Hackettstown man who used to work for actor Joe Piscopo pleaded guilty Wednesday to stealing more than $170,000 from the celebrity, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp said.

Frank LaRocca, 40, was hired by Piscopo to pay his bills and managed his bank account. LaRocca admitted to taking funds belonging to Piscopo for his own personal use in the amount of $170,805.61.

LaRocca will pay full restitution to Piscopo and the state has recommended a prison term of three years.

Last week, LaRocca’s wife, Jennifer, also pleaded guilty to theft and will be contributing to the restitution payment. She is expected to be sentenced April 1, 2016.
