Man Beat Child With Belt: Hackettstown Police
The man faces abuse charges in connection to the beating.
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A Hackettstown man is accused of hitting a child with a belt, police said.
Anahyde Mejicanos, 22, of Hackettstown, faces child abuse charges in relation to the belt strikes, police said. Mejicanos allegedly hit the boy several times on his body with a belt, causing bruising and injuries, on March 6.
Police did not say what age the child was, or what the child's relation to Mejicanos is. Police did not respond to Patch's request for more information.

Mejicanos is charged with fourth-degree child abuse, police said. He was lodged in the Warren County Correctional Facility.
