NJSP, EMS Vehicles Collide While Responding To Medical Call
The crash was reported Friday afternoon while both were responding to a call for medical help, authorities said.
WHITE TOWNSHIP, NJ - A New Jersey State Police SUV collided with an EMS vehicle in North Jersey Friday afternoon while both were responding to a call for medical help, authorities said.
The crash took place at 2:01 p.m. on Route 46 eastbound near milepost 11 in White Township while both vehicles had their emergency lights activated, a spokesperson for the New Jersey State Police said in a statement.
An initial investigation found that a marked New Jersey State Police Ford Explorer was traveling behind a marked Oxford EMS Chevy Tahoe near milepost 11 when the EMS vehicle stopped in the lane and attempted to make a U-turn, the spokesperson said. The NJSP vehicle was “unable to avoid collision” and struck the rear of the Chevy and then struck the guardrail.

As a result of the crash, the driver of the Oxford Chevy sustained minor-non life threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
The trooper did not report any injuries, state police said.
