• Boys fencing: Fencers of the week for Jan. 13 (nj.com subscription) — Hackettstown fencing standout Will Van Doren is getting statewide recognition after leading the Tigers to a big win over Morris Catholic and adding two more victories against Morris Hills. A junior epee fencer, he’s featured among New Jersey’s boys “fencers of the week” for his strong recent performances.
   

• Mount Olive Native, Wife Of Retired NJSP Col. Patrick Callahan Dies, 57 (dailyvoice.com) — Services for Linda Callahan, a Mount Olive native and devoted nurse and volunteer, will be held this week in Hackettstown. Friends and neighbors can pay respects Thursday evening at Cochran Funeral Home on High Street and attend a Christian funeral service Friday morning at Trinity United Methodist Church on Main Street. Her life of faith, family, and service is warmly remembered.
