Services Set for Local Man Killed in Plane Crash

Viewing arrangements for Joshua Adickes, 27, of Long Valley, have been set for Monday, July 8 at Cochrane Funeral Home, according to its website.

Friends are able to visit Adickes and his family between 2 and 4 p.m. and 6 and 9 p.m. at Cochrane, which is located at 905 High Street in Hackettstown.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 9 at 11 a.m. at Highlands Presbyterian Church, the website said, and interment will take place immediately following at Fairmount Cemetery in Fairmount, New Jersey.

Adickes died June 30 in Ocean City, Maryland, after the Nanchang CJ-6A aircraft he and a friend were flying in crashed into the ocean, about a half-mile off the coast. 

The 2004 West Morris Central graduate was a police officer in Ocean City. Family and former coaches recalled the oldest of three brothers as "a good kid," and a student-athlete "you wanted the other students to be like."
