Warren County Continues To See Surge In Coronavirus Cases
Warren County's crude case fatality rate is currently the second highest in the state, county officials said.
WARREN COUNTY, NJ — In the Warren County Health Department's first weekly report of the new year, the county has crossed another milestone in confirmed COVID-19 cases, with a total of 4,131 since the pandemic began.
An average of 45 cases per day have been reported in the past seven days, county officials said.
"Just as a point of reference, it took seven weeks and one day to reach 1,000 cases. It was 27 weeks, four days more before Warren County had 2,000 cases. It took another 3 weeks, six days to hit 3,000 cases," officials said on the county's official Facebook page.

It's now taken just three weeks and a day after that to hit 4,000 cases, county officials said. Following the holidays, the county continues to see a surge in coronavirus cases.
"As the vaccine rolls out, it is important to remember that we must continue to monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 or any illness: Stay home if you’re sick, practice social distancing, and wear your mask!" county officials said.

County officials said 11 percent of Warren County’s COVID-19 cases are residents of long-term care facilities. There are currently seven active outbreaks at facilities in Warren County.
To date, a total of 170 residents, 136 of them at those long-term care facilities, have died from COVID-19-related causes in Warren County.
In Hackettstown, there have been 478 confirmed coronavirus cases as of Wednesday.
As of Jan. 6, Warren County’s crude case fatality rate — the proportion of COVID-19 cases involving people who have died in comparison to the total number of cases — is 4.1 percent, which is the second highest in the state, county officials said. The CFR for New Jersey overall is 3.5 percent.

In the past seven days, county officials said an average of 194 tests per day have been collected from Warren County residents.
