Long Valley Mayor Talks Civics With Local Elementary Students
The mayor recently visited Benedict A. Cucinella Elementary School to speak about local government and the mayor's role in town politics.
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ - Things got political in a third grade classroom last week in Washington Township.
Washington Mayor Matt Murello visited Benedict A. Cucinella Elementary School on Friday to speak about local government and the mayor’s role in town politics, according to a statement posted by Murello on social media.
“Thank you to the Cucinella 3rd graders who invited me today to talk about local government and the role of Mayor in our community,” Murello wrote.

In photos posted to Facebook, Murello could be seen sitting among dozens of beaming third grade students. Another photo displayed a cardboard banner with red, white and blue letters that read: “Welcome Mayor Murello.”
“What a great group of students that had some amazing questions,” Murello added. “A special thank you to Principal Perruso, Ms. Hille and all the 3rd grade teachers for their warm welcome and a chance to talk with the students.”
