Water Main Replacement in Kenwood Village Area Starts Thursday
The pipe replacement may cause street closings and water disruptions during the six-month project, Hackettstown Municipal Utilities Authority said.

The installation of several thousand feet of new water main pipes in the Kenwood Village area is slated to begin Thursday and continue for approximately six months, to June 1, the Hackettstown Municipal Utilities Authority (HMUA) said in a release.
The water main replacement of old pipes will be installed from Mountain Avenue to Rt. 57 on Victoria Lane, Mitchell Road, Arthur Terrace and Lawrence Dive. The actual work will be done from 8 a.m. to no later than 5 p.m., and only on weekdays, the HMUA said.
The construction may cause some road closings and may in some circumstances have an effect on the water supply. The HMUA said that in areas where the water issues can be predicted, residents will be notified prior to interruption. However, the water utility authority said, "emergency situations may occur requiring immediate shutdown of the water main."
Residents are instructed to "store an adequate supply of water for drinking or other purposes" during the six-month pipe replacement project. For more information on water issues, the HMUA can be reached 24 hours a day at 908-852-3622.
