Woman Faked Being Punched By Boyfriend, Owes $6K in Warrants, Cops Say
Manalapan woman told Hackettstown police her boyfriend kicked her out of a moving car, and then allegedly admitted to making the story up.

A Manalapan woman led police on a false investigation of her being punched and kicked by her boyfriend Friday, with officers later discovering eight warrants out for her arrest amounting to more than $6,000, police said.
Laurie Vandeusen, 43, was charged with falsely calling 911, hindering and obstructing, according to Hackettstown Police Sgt. Darren Tynan. She was sent to the Warren County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 bail.
Police responded to the intersection of Route 64 and Bilby Road around 2:40 a.m. after receiving a call for a domestic dispute, Tynan said. Officers arrived and spoke to a woman who identified herself as Lauren Ciana, later determined to be Vandeusen using a false name, according to Tynan.
Vandeusen allegedly claimed to have been punched by her boyfriend and said he kicked her out of a moving car. The Hackettstown Rescue Squad was called to the scene and transported her to Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. Tynan said Vandeusen also gave hospital staff a false name.
She later informed police that she had called 911 herself and fabricated the incident, Tynan said. Police discovered several warrants for Vandeusen's arrest, including:
- $1,000-Hamilton Township Municipal Court
- $500-Pennington Borough Municipal Court
- $500-Robbinsville Municipal Court
- $500-Perth Amboy Municipal Traffic Court
- $2,000-Perth Amboy Municipal Criminal Court
- $1,500-Manalpan Municipal Traffic Court
- $630-East Windsor Municipal Traffic Court
- $350-East Windsor Municipal Criminal Court
