Girl, 11, Struck in Hit-and-Run, Police Search for Driver

The incident happened on Saturday evening on Haddon Avenue in Haddonfield.

An 11-year old girl was seriously injured when she was struck by a
hit-and-run vehicle Saturday evening in the 700 block of Haddon Avenue in Haddonfield, police said. 

The incident happened shortly before 8:43 p.m. as the girl was trying to cross the street near Rite Aid and P.J. Whelihan's restaurant. The girl was taken by ambulance to Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

Police are looking for the driver of a 1996 or 1997 Ford Thunderbird or 1996 or 1997 Mercury Cougar. The vehicle is possibly silver or gray and should have damage on the passenger side front corner, including a broken turn signal lens.
