2 Officers Hurt During Arrest Of 'Combative' Suspect: Haddonfield PD

The suspect threw body fluids at the officers during a domestic violence investigation, according to officials.

HADDONFIELD, NJ — Two Haddonfield officers were injured while arresting a suspect who became aggressive and threw body fluids at them during a domestic violence investigation, police said.

On Friday night, officers responded to a home on Jefferson Avenue for a domestic violence incident. One of the people involved "became hostile and combative towards the officers," according to Haddonfield Police.

Police were able to arrest the person after a physical struggle, in which one officer broke his ankle and another sustained minor injuries, Haddonfield PD said.

The person was charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, and one count each of aggravated assault on a police officer causing serious bodily injury, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, and throwing body fluids at a police officer. Police did not identify them, as to protect the victim's privacy.

Both officers are expected to make a full recovery, according to the police department.
