Colonial Ave. Porch Fire Snuffed, No Injuries Reported

Five occupants of a Colonial Avenue home escaped an early morning porch fire Saturday without injuries.

Two parents, two children and a houseguest smelled smoke from a 3:30 a.m. fire and fled to a neighbor’s.

Meanwhile, Haddon Fire Company No. 1 and Task Force 14 responded to the home and encountered a small porch fire and moderate smoke, Chief Joseph Riggs Jr. said. The fire did not spread to the home itself.

Officials are investigating the fire, which appears accidental in nature, Riggs said.
