House Fire Injures 3, Including Child, In Haddonfield

HADDONFIELD, NJ — Three people were injured, including a child, in a fire that significantly damaged a house in Haddonfield, officials said.

A mail carrier saw the fully involved fire on 408 Spruce St. at around 3:10 p.m. and called 911.

Haddon Fire Company No. 1 and firefighters from surrounding communities controlled the blaze about 40 minutes later.

The Collingswood Fire Department shared a photo of the heavily scorched home.

A woman and child were brought to the hospital for smoke inhalation, while a firefighter was treated for minor smoke inhalation at the scene.

The Red Cross is helping impacted residents.

The Camden County fire marshal is investigating the cause.

Several fires have broken out Wednesday throughout South Jersey, including a house fire in Cherry Hill. A massive wildfire also continues to rage in Ocean County.

An especially dry stretch during the current drought has made the region especially vulnerable to fires spreading.
