Officials determined that another 16-year-old boy from Camden brought the gun inside the home on the 1500 block of Thorn Street. The girl was handling the firearm and "recklessly" discharged the weapon, shooting Brooks, said the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.
Both juveniles surrendered themselves to the prosecutor's office on Tuesday.
