Haddon Fire Co. No. 1 Celebrates Return Of Fire Prevention Night

After a three-year hiatus, the Fire Prevention Night Open House returns to Haddon Fire Co. No. 1 (HFC No. 1) on Thursday, October 13th, 7– 9 pm. "We are very excited to welcome families back into the firehouse," says HFC No. 1 Chief Lou Frontino. "We have a lot of fun activities and giveaways planned."

Activities include; fire truck and ambulance tours, hands-on fire extinguisher demonstrations, and learning how to hold a fire hose while squirting a "mock house." Plus, there will be two live vehicle extrication demonstrations, where audiences can watch cars being cut! Giveaway bags will include; fire helmets, badges, and coloring books.
The canteen unit from Cherry Hill's Deer Park Fire Company will be in the house cooking hot dogs and other goodies, which are FREE to all visitors. Also, guests can view the 1929 Ahrens Fox 100 Gallon Pumper on loan for the evening from the Westmont Fire Company.

Nationally, this is the 100th Anniversary of Fire Prevention Week, sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association, October 9th – 15th. This year's theme is "Fire Won't Wait. Plan Your Escape" ™ educates everyone about simple but necessary actions to keep themselves and those around them safe from home fires.
