Haddon Township Man Killed In Helicopter Crash In PA: Reports

JIM THORPE, PA — A Haddon Township man was one of two people killed in a helicopter crash last week in Pennsylvania, according to media reports.

Michael Higgins, 40, was a lineman who was working when the crash occurred in Carbon County, north of Allentown, reports said.

The Hughes 369D crashed Thursday afternoon in Jim Thorpe, according to the Federal Aviation Administration, which is investigating the incident with the National Transportation Safety Board.

Also killed in the crash was pilot Jeffery Patmore, 52, of British Columbia, Canada, WPVI reported.

PPL Electric Utilities told FOX 29 the crash occurred while a third-party contractor was working on its system. The identities of the victims were released Saturday by the county coroner, FOX 29 reported.
