Collingswood Woman Hit by Car on Haddon Ave. as Pub Crawl Ends

The victim was taken by ambulance to the hospital after the March 17 accident in Haddon Township.

A 22-year-old Collingswood woman was struck by a car shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Haddon Ave., near the end of a township-sponsored St. Patrick's Day pub crawl, township police said.

The woman, who was not immediately identified, was taken by ambulance to Cooper University Hospital in Camden and listed in stable condition with superficial lacerations to the head.

No charges are currently pending against the driver, who stopped at the scene and was only identified as a "middle-aged Haddonfield man" by Det. Sgt. Scott Bishop of the township police.

It was not immediately known if the woman had attended the pub crawl event. The incident occurred near the Valero gas station and the Irish Mile bar, both on the 300 block of Haddon Ave. The bar was one of eight businesses participating in the pub crawl.

Haddon Township sponsored a St. Paddy's pub crawl on Sunday between eight local bars and restaurants. A free shuttle bus ferried patrons between the Westmont PATCO train station and eight locations featuring Irish Beer, food and song.

Other participating businesses include Keg & Kitchen, PJ Whelihan's Pub, Treno, Pour House, Tap Room & Grill, Tom Fischer's Tavern and Brewer's Towne Tavern.
