Man Killed, 2 Injured In Wrong-Way Crash In South Jersey: Police

A driver crossed the centerline and hit a vehicle, killing the other driver, authorities said.

VINELAND, NJ — A man was killed in a head-on crash after the other driver crossed onto the wrong side of the road Sunday morning in South Jersey, police said.

Two other men were also injured in the collision, which happened around 7 a.m. on E Landis Avenue in Vineland, police said.

A red 2016 Toyota Highlander was traveling westbound on E Landis Avenue when it crossed the centerline by Main Road, police said. It struck a beige 2017 Honda CRV on the eastbound side, according to law enforcement.

The Honda driver — Efrain DeLatorre-Valdesp, 72, of Vineland — was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Toyota driver — a 51-year-old Vineland man — was brought to Inspira Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in his SUV was treated at Cooper University Hospital.

Vineland police are investigating the crash. No criminal charges have been announced as of Monday morning.
