New Hair Salon Brings NYC Flair To Haddonfield

Ownership has South Jersey roots, but they were influenced by a decade in the Big Apple's hair industry.

HADDONFIELD, NJ — The owners of Haddonfield's new hair salon have South Jersey roots. But UrbanHouse Salon brings a "fresh, hip and upscale salon atmosphere" inspired by their decade immersed in New York City's hair industry, according to the business.

UrbanHouse Salon opened April 4 at 217 Kings Hwy. E. The business will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting at 7 p.m. April 20, during Haddonfield's Girls' Night Out.

Nick and Carrie Vickers own the establishment. Nick was born and raised in South Jersey, but he moved to New York City after marrying his soon-to-be business partner Carrie. The couple lived and worked in the Big Apple and immersed themselves in the city's hair industry before bringing it to South Jersey.

They opened their first UrbanHouse a few years ago. The Haddonfield location is the business's second.

"We opened our first salon in Mullica Hill three months after the start of the pandemic with a vision to one day expand," said Nick Vickers, who is also head stylist. "Opening our second location is proof of the growth of our brand and strength in our concept. We are so proud to have reached this milestone in less than three years."
