Obituary: Bernice C. Witt

Bernice C.Witt (nee Cooke), 95, of Haddonfield, died on Saturday.

She was the beloved wife of the late Karl A. Loving mother to Ann W. Laird and her husband Doug of Cary NC , Barbara W. Hartmann of Haddonfield, and Virginia K. Witt  and her husband Randy Thomas of Douglaston, NY.; two sisters Dorothy Cooke of Piscataway, NJ and Jacqueline Chalifoux of West Trenton, NJ; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Bernice graduated from St Joseph's School of Nursing in Patterson and went on to become a visiting nurse in Ridgewood, NJ and the surrounding area.  She met and married Karl Witt in 1948 and  started their life in Haddonfield raising their three girls.  Years later Bernice went back to nursing and worked as the head charge nurse at St. Mary's Catholic Home for 20 years.  A remarkable woman loved by all, who will be missed by so many people whose lives she touched. 

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation Friday 10:30 a.m. at the 81 Haddon Ave. Haddonfield, NJ Funeral services will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
