South Jersey Man Shared Child Porn On Messaging App: Prosecutor

Detectives say they identified the suspect by linking common IP addresses and email addresses from the tips they received.

MILLVILLE, NJ — A Cumberland County man was arrested Friday after authorities say he shared child pornography on a messaging app.

John Dunigan, 49, of Millville, distributed the material on Kik, a messaging app, officials said.

The Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office received information about the alleged activities from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Investigators say they identified the suspect by linking common IP addresses and email addresses from the tips they received.

Detectives arrested Dunigan after searching his Cedar Street home on Friday. He was charged with first-degree distribution and second-degree possession of child sexual abuse material.

He remains incarcerated in the Cumberland County Jail as of noon Monday. Prosecutors will move to keep him detained as legal proceedings play out.
