Update: Carson, Schlitt Out of Title Contention

Robert Schlitt and Carson Stack each wrestled their way to the semifinals, but lost. Consolation rounds await Sunday.

Update, March 3, 7:46 p.m.: Haddonfield wrestlers Carson Stack and Robert Schlitt each came within one round of the title match, but lost in the semifinals at the state wrestling tournament Saturday.

Stack, a 195-pounder, lost a 3-0 decision to Don Bosco Prep's Razohnn Gross. In the 160-pound class, Schlitt lost a 5-2 decision to Hammonton's Phillip Bakuckas. 

Both wrestlers still have a chance at third place and a podium spot with wrestlebacks, which will take place Sunday at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall.

Robert Schlitt and Carson Stack both beat their second-round opponents Friday to advance in the tournament. Both wrestlers had a first-round bye.

Senior Schlitt entered the tournament as a No. 3 seed in the 160-pound class. He beat Parsippany Hills’ Dillon Davis in a 6-2 decision Friday. Schlitt’s first opponent Saturday will be Jadaen Bernstein of Voorhees.

Stack, a 195-pound senior and No. 2 seed, dispensed of Summit’s Anthony Iarussi in a 9-0 major decision. He’ll take on Brick’s Matt Moore on Saturday.
