Wrong-Way Highway Crash Kills Woman, Injures 2 Others In South Jersey: Police
2 people were brought to the hospital with 'moderate' injuries, officials said.
MILLVILLE, NJ — A woman was killed in a head-on crash after her car crossed onto the wrong side of the highway Friday afternoon in Millville, authorities said.
Two people in the other vehicle sustained "moderate" injuries, said Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a State Police spokesperson.
The crash happened at 2:17 p.m. Friday on Route 55 in Millville.

Maria Ortiz, 55, of Millville, was driving northbound on the highway. At an unknown location, her Chevrolet Malibu crossed onto the southbound side while continuing to travel north, according to the preliminary investigation from State Police.
Ortiz struck a BMW SUV that was traveling southbound on Route 55, Lebron said.

The BMW driver and passenger were brought to a local hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
