Councilman Wishes for 10,000 Pounds for Weekend Paper Shredding Event

Borough hosts free paper shredding recycling event this Saturday, June 2.

David Gonzalez says his dream would be to see the borough recycle 10,000 pounds of paper during this weekend’s free shredding event set for Saturday.

The councilman and liaison to the environmental commission, has been at the last two events in order to stir up more and more participation from the community to take part in recycling.

Now he promises to get in that dunk tank next year no matter what however he still continues to encourage the community to continue to grow its recycling efforts by looking to surpass the amount these events brought in last year.

The last event the borough hosted in November 2011 , substantially surpassing a goal of 6,500 pounds.

This Saturday the mobile paper shredding truck will be based at the Central Avenue Park lot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents and business owners can once again bring their sensitive documents to be shredded and recycled safely.

No hardcover books, magazines, newspapers, photographs or x-rays will be accepted at these shredding events.

The borough hosts paper shredding events twice a year. The next one will be Saturday, Nov. 3.
