Hasbrouck Heights woman collects for Walk Now Autism Speaks

When it comes to fundraising for a good cause there is no stopping Phyllis Caparino.

For the second year in a row, the Hasbrouck Heights woman has made autism the focus of her fundraising going to local supermarkets canning towards her goal for the upcoming Walk Now For Austism Speaks which is set for Sunday, May 19 at Bergen Community College.

More than $1,000 has already been raised for Team Elias, her family's team in honor of her nephew who was diagnosed with a light form of autism.

Born with cerebral palsy and confined to a wheelchair, Caparino has never let that stop her from taking steps towards doing something she believes in.

Caparino will be collecting at the Stop and Shop in Hackensack on the border of Heights on April 20, April 21 and May 11.
