District Remains Below the Average in Cost Per Pupil

2010-2011 School Report Card from the state Department of Education shows breakdown of cost per pupil for the district compared to those with similar budgets.

The Hasbrouck Heights school district remains below average in cost per pupil once again according to figures listed in the state Department of Education School Report Card, released last week.

For the 2010-2011 school year the total cost per pupil was $15,641, fairly below the average amount of $17,649 among districts with similar budgets. Also the figures show that the total cost per pupil went down from $16,125 from the 2009-2010 school year.

Although total cost per pupil remained below the average for the 2009-2010 school year it had increased significantly from the previous 2008-2009 school year by  nearly $1,000 per pupil. See the chart below.
