Fire Call at High School Building Deemed False Alarm

Fire alarm went off Tuesday evening interrupting a parents meeting.

The building was surrounded by fire engines and police vehicles Tuesday evening while firefighters investigated a call that turned out to be false alarm.

The building's fire alarm went off just after 7:30 p.m. Although classes were not in session, a Collaborative Parents Committee meeting was taking place in the media center and all were evacuated immediately.  There were no reports of any smoke.

Fire Chief Patrick Hayes said the fire alarm near the stage in the auditorium had been pulled. The alarm had been reset and all was "back to normal" according to Hayes after about 30 minutes.
