Flooding Closes I-80, Roads In Bergen County

Heavy rain on Saturday afternoon led to flooding that closed or partially closed several roads; a flood warning remains in effect.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Several roads were closed Saturday evening as heavy rain led to flooding in multiple areas.

Interstate 80 was closed and detoured near Teterboro, according to the state Department of Transportation website 511nj.org.

Also closed was U.S. Route 9 west in Englewood Cliffs, according to 511nj.org.

A flood warning was in effect for the Saddle River near Lodi, according to the National Weather Service, which said minor flooding was possible. The flood warning will remain in place until Sunday afternoon.

The Saddle River was at 6.4 feet as of 6:30 p.m., and the bankfull stage was 5 feet, according to the National Weather Service.
