Heights Municipal Budget Process Underway

Chief financial officer will give an update on the budget process next Tuesday.

The borough's finance committee is working to finalize the 2013 municipal budget which will be introduced to the public sometime in the next several weeks.

Next Tuesday during the work session meeting, an update on the budget process will be given by Mike Kronyak, borough administrator and chief financial officer.

Last week the borough learned from the state that municipal aid will once again remain flat for the 2013 year. This means the borough will once again receive the amount of , which is the same it received for 2012 and 2011.

In 2012 the governing body approved an $18 million budget which collected about $14 million from taxpayers which cost the average homeowner an additonal $35 towards the tax bill.

The work session meeting will follow the regular public session which begins at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12.
