Heights Still Seeks Buyer for Vacant Central Avenue Lot
The borough will make another attempt to sell the vacant piece of property at auction.

The borough is still looking to sell a piece of property it owns on Central Avenue which borders a small playground and parking area.
The governing body gave the go ahead Tuesday night to plan for another attempt at selling the property via public auction.
The borough reduced its minimum price from $250,000 to $230,000 for the rectangular piece of land which measures 46.67 feet wide and 144 feet long. The lot is intended for the construction of one single-family home.

Attempts to sell the property were made previously but no succesful bids came in, explained Mike Kronyak, borough administrator.
The borough has owned the land for more than a decade. It was originally part of the land to be used for the parking lot, playground and Firemen's Memorial. The borough has considered selling the unused portion since and began taking steps towards a sale last spring.
