Holiday Events This Weekend in Heights

Help neighboring children by donating toys, shop at the high school holiday flea market or take part in the Lego challenge - all happening in Hasbrouck Heights this weekend.

There's lots to do in Hasbrouck Heights this coming weekend - from helping out neighboring children affected by the Hurricane, to supporting local kids by shopping at their holiday flea market.

Saturday the Junior Girl Scout Troop 517 and Brownie Troop 438 will be at the Central Avenue Park lot from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m collecting donated toys, gift cards and other items for the children in Moonachie and Little Ferry who were affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Items needed include gift cards to shops like Target, Shop Rite, Stop & Shop, Toys R Us or Barnes and Nobles. Board games and small toys will be accepted as well.

All day Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. the Hasbrouck Heights High School Key Club is hosting a holiday flea market and gift shop fundraiser. More tha, 75 vendors will be on hand at the school indoors and outside with items for sale - everything from crafts, collectibles and more.

Also this weekend the Hasbrouck Heights Library's annual Lego competition Saturday, Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Kids must bring their own Lego sets to take part in the competition where they can construct their own building which will then be judged by local artists and athletes.
