Municipal Offices Start Summer Hours This Week

Departments housed in the Borough Hall will start their day at 8 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. over the summer months.

Residents are advised to take note that summer hours for municipal offices in have begun this week, which now means offices will be open rom 8 a.m. to 3:30 pm. instead of 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Over the past few years it had been noted that the amount of people coming to the building after 2 p.m. over the summer months had dropped off significantly and were found to be coming in during early morning hours instead, Mike Kronyak, borough administrator explained.

By starting the work day earlier, the borough can save on cooling costs by turning the air conditioning off around 2:30 p.m. which saves energy and cuts down on the electric use, according to Kronyak.
