• Hasbrouck Heights Approves Two Fast Food Eateries and a Retail Shop for the Sombrero Site (tapinto.net) — Hasbrouck Heights’ Planning Board has approved replacing the Sombrero Mexican restaurant site on Route 17 with a Dunkin’ drive-thru, a Jimmy John’s, and a new retail shop, adding late-night traffic and activity to the corner of Henry Street. Neighbors raised safety and congestion concerns, prompting conditions on lighting, deliveries, garbage pickup, landscaping, and fire department access.
   

• HS Wrestling: Hasbrouck Heights Captures Garfield Tournament (tapinto.net) — Hasbrouck Heights’ wrestling team kicked off its season in style by winning the Frank Dawson Memorial Tournament in Garfield. Four Aviators claimed individual titles and six more reached the finals, giving local fans an early look at a deep, competitive squad that coach Kurt Freund says is ready to keep improving.
