Pedestrian Suffers Life-Threatening Head Injuries After Strike on Boulevard

Police say 54-year-old woman was crossing traffic when struck

A 54-year-old Bloomfield woman is at Hackensack University Medical Center after sustaining life-threatening head injuries in a pedestrian strike at approximately 9:30 p.m. Friday night, police said.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was walking into traffic on Boulevard Avenue about 100 feet north of Central Avenue when she was struck by a gray BMW traveling south on the heavily-traveled road, according to police.

The driver of that vehicle has not been charged in connection with the strike, which forced emergency responders to rush the victim to Hackensack University Medical Center.
