2nd Man Charged In Gun-Brandishing Incident At Bergen County Mall, Police Say
The second man was carrying a handgun during the incident, police said.
PARAMUS, NJ — Nearly two weeks after police arrested a man for brandishing a gun at a mall in Bergen County, a second man has been arrested in the same incident.
Jamal Clark, 21, of Newark was charged Thursday with second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, Paramus police said.
On Dec. 30, shortly after 9 p.m., Westfield Garden State Plaza security officers told police that a mall customer had seen a man displaying a gun in his waistband earlier that night. The person with the gun left the mall and got into a 2021 Hyundai Elantra, police say.

Charlie Williams, 19, of Newark, was arrested two weeks ago and charged with second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, Paramus police said.
Police said additional investigation showed a second person — later identified as Clark — also had a firearm.

Clark was arrested by New Jersey State Police on an outstanding warrant from Paramus on Thursday, and Paramus police processed him and took him to the Bergen County Jail pending court proceedings, police said.
Police said the investigation is still ongoing.
