DeLorenzo said it is not unusual for break-ins like this to occur during daylight hours especially at this time of year when it stays light longer. Although in this case entry was forced, the captain advises that residents be reminded to secure all windows and doors as a precaution.
The captain said the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department was brought in to help process the crime scene and collect evidence. Police investigators are checking with area police departments like Wood-Ridge and Lodi to see if any similar occurrences took place, according to DeLorenzo.
