Report: Hasbrouck Heights Average Home-Sale Prices Drop

The average home sale price has decreased in Hasbrouck Heights from 2008 to 2012, according to an interactive map published by NJSpotlight.com.

The article shows that the average home sale price in Heights went from $450,781 in 2008 down to $374,224 in 2012, a steady decline from year to year except for a slight bump between 2010 and 2011 where sale price rose again by about $17,000, according to the report. Total decrease over the five year span is 17 percent, NJSpotlight reports.

The borough had a property reassessment done in 2011 which resulted in a 25 percent reduction in property value. The former average home value dropped from $436,800 down to $355,000.

The drop in property value goes in line with the norm across state as NJSpotlight reports that the typical sales price dropped in about 75 percent of New Jersey towns in 2012.
