$20K Raised in Memorial Run-Walk Event Honoring Former Hillsborough Mayor
Funds benefit SHIP program, formerly advised by Assemblyman Peter Biondi.

Peter Biondi spent a large portion of his life helping residents of New Jersey, especially his hometown of Hillsborough, through political office.
The third annual Peter J. Biondi Run-Walk event was held Sunday, Oct. 11 in Hillsborough, and raised some $20,000, nj.com reported.
The event benefits the Samaritan Homeless Interim Program (SHIP), of which Biondi served as an advisor.

Biondi’s political career included serving on the Hillsborough Committee and as its mayor, along with holding a seat on the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders. Biondi then served on the New Jersey State Assembly representating Legislative District 16 from 1998 to 2011, when he died at age 69.
