$4,600 Raised By Hillsborough Girl Who Gave Up Birthday Gifts For Charity
Avery Fedo raised the funds for Steps Together in honor of her teacher Mrs. Erin Chung whose 3-year-old son was diagnosed with Leukemia.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough local Avery Fedo's 10th birthday was a success as she raised $4,600 for Steps Together.
"[We] loved meeting Courtney and hearing all the amazing things Steps Together does and will do with Avery's donation," said Fedo's mom Erika.
Courtney Newman of Steps Together also wrote Fedo a letter that brought Erika to tears and a pillow with the kids' names that they have helped.

The whole fundraiser was spurred when Fedo declared she didn't want gifts for her 10th birthday and just wanted to help her teacher Erin Chung. Read More: Hillsborough Girl Gives Up Birthday Gifts, Honors Teacher With Charity
Chung served as Avery's third and fourth-grade teacher at Hillsborough Elementary School. Her 3-year-old son Harrison was diagnosed with leukemia this year.

Donations were collected through Fedo's birthday on Aug. 31. The check was dropped off this past Sunday.
Steps Together is a Hillsborough based 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to inspiring our community to pay their blessings forward and support Somerset County families facing a medical crisis.
