Artwork Created By Residents Sought For Hillsborough 2026 Calendar

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough Township is again working with the Town Planner to produce a 2026 color-printed calendar that will be mailed to every home in Hillsborough.

As always, the Township calendar will be a collaborative effort, and residents will submit photos.

For the first time, the Township is collecting digital images of artwork created by Hillsborough residents, instead of photographs of local scenery. The artwork doesn’t have to be Township-related, but it’s preferred.

With input from Hillsborough Express Yourself (HEY), a subcommittee of Sustainable Hillsborough, the Township hopes this new format will promote the work of our creative community members and groups.

"It would be our honor to highlight the work of local artists," said Mayor John Ciccarelli.

Individuals interested in submitting photographs for consideration for the 2025 calendar can do so using the online form found on the Hillsborough Township website.

Submission Guidelines:

• Photo image size: 7” wide x 4.85” at 300 dpi
• Open to residents of all ages
• Artwork can include: Photographs, paintings, sculptures, etc.
• Hillsborough-related content is preferred, but not required
• No inappropriate or mature language, topics, or other related unsuitable content
• Each high-resolution photo should be saved using the photographer's first and last name and the name of the artwork

Calendar submissions are selected by Hillsborough Township employees and HEY members, who vote on their favorite pictures. At the time of voting, participants don’t know the identity of each artist.

Artists whose pictures are chosen for the 2026 calendar will receive a Certificate of Appreciation from the Mayor, which will be presented at a future Township Committee meeting.

"The Township calendar/planner is funded through advertising that promotes local businesses and comes at no cost to Hillsborough residents," said Ciccarelli.
