It also features ‘women to women’ care, featuring DHC’s female gastroenterologists. Services include well care, in addition to screening such as colonoscopy, and diagnosis and treatment for all digestive concerns, conditions or diseases. The WWC is staffed by Dr. Claudia Barghash and Dr. Kristen Lee.
According to Dr. Barghash, “We are here for women who want to deal with their GI issues with another woman. We understand the needs of women both physically and emotionally, and we also take into account women’s lifestyles.”

The Women’s Wellness Center recognizes women’s busy schedules, and to that end, has developed a unique program of Walk-In-Wednesdays, featuring walk-in appointments from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In addition to common conditions such as irritable bowel disease and acid reflux, frequent women’s issues addressed at the WWC also include bloating, constipation and diarrhea. In addition, services such as colonics (colon cleansing) are also available through the WWC.
The WWC employs a holistic approach, considering all aspects of women’s lives that contribute to GI health.
Dr. Barghash says, “We will spend the time to determine the many factors that contribute to these conditions, such as stress and dietary habits.”
According to Dr. Lee, “My interest in women’s health comes from being a woman myself. I’m interested in how certain types of GI disorders affect women to a greater degree than men. In addition, I am motivated by hearing from patients and family members how good it is to talk to women about their GI issues.”
